Thanksliving--It's Worth the Drive!

Thank you for the warm welcome you have given me over the last month. I enjoyed the past month so much that I’ve adopted a new personal motto: “Worship at First Baptist Church Orangeburg! It’s worth the drive.” In the middle of the week, my motto is “Wednesday evening at First Baptist Church Orangeburg: It’s worth the drive!” I hope you’ll make the drive—and encourage someone else to also—on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.

On Wednesdays in November, we are continuing our Bible study of the book of Exodus. Chances are, you’ve never heard Exodus taught the way we are working through it in Davis Hall. Come learn, laugh, and grow in your understanding of the Bible, God, yourself, and the world.

On Sundays, the sermons in October focused on the stewardship emphases of worship, missions, student ministry, and children’s ministry. Now, in November, the sermons turn to a series on the seasonal theme of Thanksliving. Thanksgiving is giving thanks one day a year. Thanksliving is giving thanks as a way of life. Colossians 3:15 says, “Be thankful.” That’s not an act; it’s a state or a condition of life. The Thanksliving sermons will introduce you to gratitude as a state of mind, a condition of the heart, and a place of the soul.

See you at First Baptist Church Orangeburg on Sunday and Wednesday. It’s worth the drive!
